Teaching Salaries in Florida
According to the Florida Department of Education, the average salaries for teachers for the last three years has been as follows:
2002-2003 $40,275
2003-2004 $40,598
2004-2005 $41,578
The district with the lowest average salary is Union at $32,451 and the highest is Dade at $47,300. Those with doctorate degrees in the Dade School District get paid an average of $60,190, the highest in the state. The highest paid teachers with a specialist degree are in the Sarasota School District with an average pay of $59,413. The highest paid teachers with a masters degree are in the Collier School District with an average pay of $51,513. The highest paid teachers with a bachelors degree are in the Monroe School District with an average pay of $44,476.
Since June 2003, Florida's unemployment rate has fallen from 5.4 percent to 4.4 percent.
Since January 2001, 534,100 jobs of all types have been created in Florida.

State Tech Prep Coordinator 
Prepare students for a highly skilled, technical occupation that allows either direct entry into the workplace as a qualified technician or further education leading to baccalaureate and advanced degrees. Tech Prep is a 4-year sequence of study from the 11th grade through 2 years of postsecondary occupation education culminating in a certificate or associate degree.
